Accessible Hotel Room
A Universal Design
This project required me to redesign a hotel room to meet legislated requirements in the OBC (Ontario Building Code) and AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act ). In addition, I reported on the design’s alignment with Universal Design Principles, as well as producing a Cross Disability Analysis. This involves analyzing if and how the new design is inclusive for:
Persons using mobility devices;
Persons hard of hearing or are Deaf;
Persons who are Blind or have low vision;
Persons have limited dexterity;
Persons who have limited strength and stamina;
Persons with cognitive disabilities (neurodiversity); and
Persons of short stature
