Work/Live Home

Combining My Love For Football With Architecture

For this project, I was given a two storey early 1900’s brick building in the heart of Toronto’s Queen West District. The goal was to convert this building from its current run-down retail / residential use, to my own personal work/live environment. My design concept for both my live and work space was derived from a hobby I frequently enjoy doing (football).

SITE MODEL - Made using plywood and natural tree material. The intention here was to construct existing conditions including the massing of existing buildings, roads, trees and sidewalks.

CONCEPT MODEL - The concept is derived from a hobby I enjoy - Football. Made using balsawood, super glue, colored paper. Key words include- Pressure, Consistency, Ups and Downs/Heartbreak and Joy.
